Hi, I'm Ophelia! I'm from New Hampshire and currently in my senior year at Georgetown University as an International Political Economy major. I joined Hatch four years ago, wanting to fight the educational inequality I have seen firsthand. Education has been such as important part of my life and I hope to share that gift with others. A fun fact about me is that I have two dogs!

Ruth Ayers

Director of Tutee Relations

Hi, I'm Ruth! I'm from Pittsburgh and currently studying Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry at Carnegie Mellon University. I joined Hatch because I believe in its mission of expanding educational opportunities, and I want to help students who, like me, didn't always have access to the academic support and resources they deserved. A fun fact about me is that I write and produce my own music in my free time.

Ava Barnes

Director of TF Relations

My name is Ava Barnes and I am the Director of Teaching Fellow Relations for Hatch this year! I'm a rising junior at Carnegie Mellon University, majoring in Biological Sciences/Neuroscience focus and Biomedical Technology. I am originally from California, but moved to Idaho when I was 11, and have lived there ever since. I was motivated to join Hatch because of Hatch's mission to provide accessible tutoring and I enjoy tutoring and organizational roles. A fun fact about me is that I am a pole vaulter on the track team at CMU.

Sam Schulman

Director of Finance

Hi, I'm Sam! I am from originally from Bethesda, MD and just graduated from Georgetown University this May where I studied Business & Global Affairs. I am passionate about volunteering for meaningful projects and working with students, making Hatch the perfect combination of the two. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching sports, exercising, and travelling. A fun fact about me is that I have a twin brother!
